LISTEN TO THE RIVER CHING

Listen to the River Ching is a project taking place at Brookfield Path in Highams Park E4, funded by the London Borough of Waltham Forest Make It Happen grant.

As part of this project I am creating a new work using field recordings made in the areas around and below the water of the River Ching. I will be leading workshops with pupils with vision impairment from Joseph Clarke School who will visit the Ching and help me explore the area and record the sounds.

The Ching Action Group is a group of volunteers that aims to improve biodiversity along the river and enhance local people’s relationship with green spaces. They have been clearing the overgrown space at Brookfield Path to make it more accessible and some beautiful animal sculptures and benches by chainsaw carver Marshall Lambert have just been installed.

This CAG project is sponsored by Waltham Forest's Make it Happen grant and supported by Highams Park Planning Group.
